It's been 20 years. We know each other. Every move, every breath, every glance; we know what it all means. There are no surprises. And when no one's around, and we don't have to be "on" or guarded, we just... Are. Knees bump and shoulders nudge and arms drape and heads rest on chests. It may shock you, but our private world is rather quiet.
He grips my thigh and frowns at the mole he's discovered there. He looks up at me and I smile and cant my head at him. Never noticed that before?
He shakes his head at me. Nope.
I shrug. Surprise.
